The new mini combines an 8.5-inch OLED screen with a lighter body. The A17 Pro uses an 8.3-inch LED-backlit IPS Liquid Retina panel. Display technology changes the viewing experience, so try your documents and preferred text size rather than judging from the diagonal measurement alone.
Wi-Fi weight falls from 293g to 255g. That can matter when holding a tablet for longer periods. Cases and accessories add weight; these measurements describe the devices on their own.
Apple specifies a five-core CPU and 16-core Neural Engine for the 128GB and 256GB versions. The 512GB version has a six-core CPU and Dual 16-core Neural Engine. Do not apply the maximum configuration to every capacity.
Both generations support Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil USB-C. Check cases and other accessories independently: sharing Pencil compatibility does not establish a physical fit with the changed enclosure.
