The mini has an 8.5-inch OLED display. Air M4 comes in 11-inch and 13-inch sizes with LED-backlit IPS Liquid Retina panels. Try a typical PDF or spreadsheet and count how often you need to zoom or reposition the page.
Consider posture. Holding a compact tablet while standing differs from desk work. A keyboard and case alter weight and space, so evaluate the setup you intend to carry.
Air M4 offers up to 1TB storage and 12GB unified memory. The mini reaches 512GB; its CPU and Neural Engine configuration depend on capacity. These architectures differ, so chip names alone cannot establish performance in your app.
Both support Apple Pencil Pro and Apple Pencil USB-C. Check compatible keyboards, application features and licences. Adding a keyboard does not guarantee a computer’s workflow.
Apple announced Air M4 on March 2, 2026, with first availability on March 11. The A20 Pro mini was announced October 26. At the November 4 cutoff it is on preorder, with first availability scheduled for November 6.
