The Neo and Air M5 announcements were one day apart, but these laptops offer different starting configurations. Work out which applications, offline files and connected accessories belong in your normal day before comparing asking prices.

Start with memory and local files
Neo has eight GB of unified memory and a choice of 256 or 512 GB storage. Air M5 begins with 16 GB and offers further configurations. Look at the requirements of the programs you intend to run together; neither chip name establishes that every application or plug-in will work.
For regular offline work, calculate the material you must carry locally. Cloud storage does not increase built-in memory or SSD capacity.
USB-C does not describe every port capability
Neo combines a USB 3 port with a USB 2 port. External video uses the USB 3 connection and supports one display up to 4K at 60 Hz. Air M5 has two Thunderbolt 4 ports and supports two external displays. Check the particular cables and docks needed for your desk.
Consider charging while accessories are attached. Also read the keyboard configuration: Touch ID is part of the 512 GB Neo option, so it should not be assumed from the family name alone.
Confirm the device behind the comparison
Apple announced Air M5 on March 3 and Neo on March 4, with availability from March 11, 2026. Those dates do not confirm stock at Teveotecno. Review the listed MacBooks for battery information, physical condition, charger and warranty terms. Verify the memory and keyboard variant.
